This Douglas fir–framed extension sits lightly on pads beneath the canopy of beech trees in the garden of a Grade II listed house between Lesbury and Shilbottle, Northumberland. Large sliding doors open the home gym to westward views, while a turf roof provides habitat for birds and insects. Carefully integrated into the landscape, the design creates a subtle, sustainable addition that complements the historic setting.
